The @Baixa Coimbra project organizes training to help shopkeepers create more appealing Christmas window displays

The @Baixa Coimbra project, funded by the Digital Shopping Neighborhoods initiative, is promoting a new free training course this month on creative window displays, aimed mainly at shopkeepers. The training takes place on November 22 and 24, in partnership with the Coimbra School of Hospitality and Tourism and as part of Turismo de Portugal’s Training + Proxima program.

Capacitating commerce for the Christmas season

The “Creative Shop Windows – Christmas Special” training is aimed at commerce and tourism professionals with physical spaces equipped with shop windows and aims to strengthen skills in creating more attractive shop windows, enhancing products and services at a time that is especially important for local commerce.

 

During the sessions, principles of window dressing will be covered, including composition, color, shape, balance, lighting, creativity and decorative trends for the Christmas season. The action aims to provide participants with practical tools to strengthen the visual identity of their establishments and contribute to the economic dynamism of downtown Coimbra.

 

Dates, location and registration

With a total duration of eight hours, spread over two sessions – November 22, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., and November 24, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. – the training will be given by Maria do Céu Guerra, in person, at the Department of Economic Development, Entrepreneurship, Competitiveness and Investment, at Rua Ferreira Borges, n. 12.º 12.

 

Participation is free of charge, with the issuing of a certificate dependent on a minimum attendance of 90% and the completion of the proposed activities. Registrations must be made through the official platform of Turismo de Portugal.

 

An investment in the revitalization of the Baixa

The @Baixa Coimbra project is the result of a joint application< from Coimbra City Council, the Agency for the Promotion of Downtown Coimbra (APBC) and CoimbraMaisFuturo, representing an investment of 1.236 million euros to boost and modernize local commerce.
