Urban Craft Fair returns to Praça do Comércio this Saturday

From November 8th at 09:00 until November 8th at 18:00

The Urban Craft Fair returns this Saturday, November 8, to Praça do Comércio, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., with 41 exhibitors and a program of music and folklore throughout the day.

41 exhibitors and products from the region

The show brings together artisans, creators and associations, mostly from the Central Region, with a diversity of pieces produced with different materials and techniques. The event values urban handicrafts and the work of local associations, and is part of the Coimbra City Council’s cultural program.

Music and folklore throughout the day

The entertainment starts at 11am, with the cavaquinho group from the Salatina Association.

This is followed at 12pm by a parade by the Folklore Group from the Carvalho Social Center, which starts at Largo da Portagem and ends next to the Church of Santiago.

During the afternoon, the venue will host the concertinas “Sons de Casconha” (3pm) and the group “Os Sempre na Paródia” (4.30pm).

An event that celebrates handicrafts and the Baixa

The fair aims to boost the associative movement and attract visitors to Coimbra’s Baixa, an area historically linked to trade. It also promotes moments of conviviality, leisure and socializing, encouraging the appreciation of the local intangible heritage.

The last edition of the year of the Urban Craft Fair is already scheduled for December 13, in Largo da Sé Velha.
