Rua da Sofia hosts another edition of the “Ao Encontro da Sofia com o Cinema” event

Next Saturday, June 28, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., another edition of the event “Ao Encontro da Sofia com o Cinema” will take place. For the fourth year running, Rua da Sofia, in Coimbra, invites people to take part in a cultural and commercial day, this time dedicated to the seventh art.

The initiative, which takes place on a day with no traffic, will feature activities for all ages, including concerts, film screenings, exhibitions, children’s entertainment, promotions in local shops and various artistic interventions. Highlights include a screening of Charlie Chaplin’s classic “The Kid”, a showcase of movie posters from the 1970s, visual installations, musical performances and DJ sets throughout the day.

The event is counting on the collaboration of multiple spaces on Rua da Sofia, as well as institutional and cultural partners who together are celebrating this urban axis classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Entrance is free and the entire community is invited to take part.
