Coimbra City Council inaugurates “Cantares de Coimbra” sculpture in Rua Ferreira Borges

The sculpture “Cantares de Coimbra”, by the artist Dora Tracana, was inaugurated this Saturday, December 21, in front of the Almedina Arch, in Rua Ferreira Borges. The sculpture, made up of three life-size bronze figures – a Coimbra guitar player, a viola player and a Fado singer – was acquired by the municipality and is intended to mark the tradition, which we want to keep alive, of singing Fado de Coimbra in the street. The inauguration was attended by the mayor of Coimbra, José Manuel Silva, and the author Dora Tracana.
