Livraria Bertrand

Livraria Bertrand, has been operating for about 50 years, having been founded in 1970. It is recognized as a "Shop with History" by the Coimbra City Council. The bookstore is a reference point for the student community of the University of Coimbra, as well as for families and other visitors to the area. Over the years, it has been a meeting point for artists, journalists, and other important figures of the city, such as Miguel Torga. Livraria Bertrand is part of the oldest bookstore chain in Portugal, founded in 1732, and is also considered the oldest in the world in operation.
