Toca do Gato

Toca do Gato, is a century-old tavern with a license dating back to 1930, known for its rich history and welcoming atmosphere. Recognized as an Entity of Historical and Cultural Interest, Toca do Gato preserves its original architectural features, including the porcelain cat that inspired its name. The current owners, João and Anabela Braga, offer traditional Portuguese snacks and dishes, attracting both locals and visitors from afar. Taberna Toca do Gato offers snacks made on the spot and to put on bread, such as omelet sandwiches, fried cod, bifanas, gizzards, smoked ear, liver and petinga. They also welcome Erasmus Students who find a family home there, where everyone gets along.
