Urban Craft Fair returns to Praça do Comércio on Saturday

After a summer season in Largo da Sé Velha, the Urban Craft Fair is returning to Praça do Comércio. Next Saturday, October 11, the space will host 35 exhibitors of handcrafted items between 9:00 and 19:00. The initiative will be complemented by two entertainment events, led by the APOJOVI Folklore Group, at 11 a.m., and the Torre de Bera Folklore Group, at 4.30 p.m.

The next edition of the Urban Craft Fair will take place on Saturday in Praça do Comércio, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and 35 exhibitors from Coimbra and the region are expected. There will be two entertainment events. At 11 a.m., the APOJOVI Folklore Group will give a performance. At 4.30pm, it’s the turn of the Torre de Bera Folklore Group (from the Torre de Bera Instruction and Recreation Center) to parade from Largo da Portagem to Praça do Comércio for an ethnographic and folklore presentation on the fairgrounds.

Visitors will have the opportunity to see a variety of handicraft products, with multiple uses, some of which are designed using recycled materials and various handicraft design techniques, factors that set Coimbra’s Urban Craft Fairs apart.

This urban entertainment event aims to attract the local population to regular leisure and socializing activities, enhancing the heritage of the historic center and simultaneously attracting more visitors to the city center.

In November, the Urban Craft Fair is scheduled for the 8th, also in Praça do Comércio, with autumn/winter opening hours, i.e. from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
