The D. Pedro V Municipal Market will offer free children’s entertainment every Saturday, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, starting April 4th, as part of the “Children’s Mornings in the Market Square” initiative, promoted by the Coimbra City Council. The initiative includes inflatable structures with constant monitoring, ensuring the safety of children, and is part of the strategy to revitalize and enhance this municipal facility.

With this measure, the Municipality aims to attract more families to the market and encourage them to visit this space, combining shopping with recreational activities for younger children. The initiative will run for 48 Saturdays throughout the year, contributing to the creation of regular visiting habits and boosting local commerce. By providing children’s entertainment, the project seeks to increase the time families spend at the market, also promoting consumption in the sales and food areas. The inflatable structures will vary over time, ensuring diversity in the offerings aimed at children. Located in the city center, the D. Pedro V Municipal Market has been reinforcing its attractiveness, combining the tradition of local commerce with new dynamics of use, establishing itself as a space for socializing and meeting for different generations.
