Arts & Crafts Showcase in Downtown Coimbra

The Arts & Crafts Showcase returns to Ferreira Borges and Visconde da Luz streets on Sunday the 19th, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The initiative brings together 20 exhibitors who showcase the art of artisanal craftsmanship with live demonstrations. This edition of the event also includes a crochet workshop, run by the Herança do Passado Association, focused on creating carnations alluding to the commemoration of the April Revolution, with free participation and open to all audiences. At the invitation of the Municipality, four associations from Coimbra will also provide entertainment at the event. This is the case of the Santa Clara Leisure Time Club, whose children attending the Music Workshops will perform a concert at 10:00 AM. Joining the event, starting at 11:00 AM, is the Ethnographic Group of the Coimbra Region, whose members will walk through the streets of the Baixa district selling arrufadas (a type of sweet bread), in conjunction with the Arrufada Festival. The afternoon will be filled with a Capoeira performance at 3:00 PM by the Muzenza Group, from Desperta Capacidade – Associação Desportiva, Recreativa e Social. This will be followed by a street parade at 4:30 PM by the concertina group from the Os Sempre na Paródia de Coimbra Artistic and Cultural Association.
