Coimbra Invites the Community to Help Envision Christmas 2026

The Coimbra City Council is launching today, October 14, a public participation initiative to gather ideas, expectations, and preferences for Coimbra Natal 2026. Through October 21, residents, students, workers, business owners, and visitors are invited to respond to the survey “Let’s Imagine Christmas in Coimbra” and help shape a program that makes the city more attractive, inclusive, and vibrant during the holiday season.

The City aims to involve the community right from the initiative’s planning phase, seeking to understand what experiences, activities, and proposals different audiences would like to find in Coimbra during Christmas.

The feedback collected will support the planning of Coimbra Natal 2026 and may also provide useful information for developing future editions, as well as help identify preferences and trends in how the city experiences and celebrates this time of year.

A program designed with the city in mind

The City Council aims to develop a Christmas event capable of revitalizing the city, enhancing its appeal, and providing new experiences for those who live, work, study, visit, or conduct business in Coimbra.

The initiative is also part of a broader strategy for organizing and hosting events, contributing to the city’s enhancement, strengthening its capacity to host visitors, and promoting Coimbra and the region as a tourist destination.

The survey “Let’s Imagine Christmas in Coimbra” is available from October 14 to 21 and allows participants to submit suggestions and indicate their preferences regarding the kind of Christmas they would like to experience in the city. You can participate via this form.

Results will be analyzed and published

After the submission period closes, the City will analyze the contributions received, seeking to identify the main ideas, expectations, and preferences expressed.

The main trends identified will then be made public, in a process aimed at bringing the preparation of Coimbra Natal 2026 closer to those who live in and enjoy the city.
