Registration is now open for the 4th edition of the “Elite Quebra Costas Internacional” endurance race, which will take place on March 21, 2026, in Coimbra. Organized by the Companhia de Bombeiros Sapadores de Coimbra, with institutional support from Coimbra City Council, the initiative will once again bring together national and international firefighters in a demanding physical challenge, marked by the spirit of overcoming and camaraderie.

Participation is limited to 700 firefighters, professionals and volunteers, from all over Portugal, including the autonomous regions, and from international delegations, namely from Spain, France and Brazil, reinforcing the global nature of the event.

Since the first edition in 2023, the race has seen consistent growth, taking on an international dimension in 2024. In 2025, there were around 700 participants, consolidating its position as one of the most significant events in the world of endurance competitions for firefighters.
