The Green Bear, a pilot project for technological innovation and citizenship, developed by students and teachers from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Coimbra and integrated into the #CoimbraCityLab, continues to make progress with its experimentation in Coimbra and two metal signs with QR Codes have now been installed in Jardim da Manga and Vale das Flores Linear Park. Interacting with this equipment, as in other parts of the city, allows participants to accumulate points that can then be exchanged for prizes, thus encouraging the adoption of healthier and more sustainable practices.
The installation of these signs was supported by the team from the Green Spaces and Gardens Division of Coimbra City Council, reinforcing the municipality’s commitment to sustainability and the active participation of citizens.
This project is part of and being experimented with in the #CoimbraCityLab, a municipal initiative dedicated to developing and experimenting with innovative and sustainable technology-based ideas and projects.
It is also part of action 6.8: Operationalization of an incentive system for healthy and sustainable habits, of the @Baixa Coimbra project, as part of the PRR – Bairros Comercias Digitais funding line.
Recall that the #CoimbraCityLab is the initiative of the Municipality of Coimbra to support the development and experimentation of innovative and sustainable technology-based ideas and projects in a real environment, through the provision of physical urban space and the technical knowledge and experience of municipal services, also serving as a facilitator in the creation of partnerships to support and continue the development of projects.
