Urban Craft Fair returns to Largo da Sé Velha this Saturday

On Saturday, August 9, Largo da Sé Velha will host another edition of the Urban Craft Fair, from 9:00 to 19:00. There will be 18 exhibitors from Coimbra and other municipalities in the region, offering a diverse range of handicraft products.

Among the proposals on display are utilitarian and decorative pieces in wood, metal or cork, crochet and fabric accessories, designer jewelry, felt products, traditional weaving from Almalaguês, Coimbra crockery and articles resulting from the reuse of materials, with a focus on contemporary design.

As usual, the program includes parallel entertainment, with the aim of involving local associations and making the public space more dynamic. At 4:30pm, the “Vamos a Elas” Concertina Group, an association based in Almalaguês and formed in 2018, will perform.

The Urban Craft Fair takes place monthly until December, with editions planned for different spaces in the historic center. The next one is scheduled for September 13, again in Largo da Sé Velha, followed by the October 11 edition in Praça do Comércio.

The initiative aims to promote urban handicrafts, encourage leisure and socializing habits and contribute to the enhancement and dynamism of Coimbra’s historical heritage.
