Almedina Gallery hosts exhibition of work by ESEC Art and Design students

March 10th

The Almedina Gallery in Coimbra is hosting an exhibition of works by students from the Art and Design degree course at the Coimbra School of Education (ESEC) between March 12 and June 7. The opening is scheduled for 3 p.m. next Thursday, March 12, and will be attended by the Coimbra City Council’s Councillor for Culture, Margarida Mendes Silva.

The exhibition brings together a selection of works developed within the scope of various Plastic Arts curricular units of the ESEC degree, highlighting the processes of experimentation, research and artistic creation carried out by the students throughout their academic career.

Creativity and experimentation in the artistic process

The works on display explore different techniques and media, reflecting the students’ individual investigations into fundamental elements of artistic creation, such as color, shape, texture and composition.

In the context of training in Art and Design, students are challenged to develop their own creative path, in a process of pedagogical accompaniment that favors critical reflection, experimentation and the construction of an individual artistic identity.

Each piece presented is the result of this learning and research process, revealing not only the technical mastery acquired, but also the concerns, inspirations and personal approaches of the young artists in training.

Information for visitors

The exhibition can be visited at Galeria Almedina, with the following opening hours: Tuesday to Friday, from 10h00 to 18h00; Saturday and Sunday from 10h00 to 13h00 and from 14h00 to 18h00. The space is closed on Mondays and public holidays.
